# Reports

> Financial, inventory, sales and profitability reports for any period, with PDF, Excel and CSV downloads.

**Reports** goes deeper than the [Dashboard](/insights/dashboard): the same business, but for any period you choose and split by month, brand and client. You find it under **Analytics** in the side menu.

<Note>
  Reports needs the **Reports** permission, and the module must be part of your plan. If the page is not in your menu, ask whoever manages your company's Velyti account. See [Users and roles](/administration/users-and-roles) and [Plan and billing](/administration/subscription).
</Note>

## Choose the period

The **Period** selector sets the dates every tab uses. By default it is the **Last 12 months**. The **Quick dates** are:

* **This month**
* **Last month**
* **Quarter**
* **Year to date**
* **Last 12 months**

The line under the title repeats the period and says when the figures were calculated. As on the dashboard, each contract counts on the date it was completed.

If there is nothing to show, the page says **No data in this period**.

## The four tabs

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Financial">
    * **Revenue** and the number of completed sales.
    * **Cost of goods sold**: what was paid for the units sold.
    * **Gross margin**, in pesos and as a share of revenue, with the change against the previous period.
    * **Average margin per sale**, as a percentage over cost.
    * **Revenue and margin by month**, as a chart you can switch to a table with **Show as a table**. A month still in progress is drawn hatched and labeled as in progress.
    * **Payment methods** of the completed sales.
    * **All time**: cumulative revenue, cumulative investment and **Net cash flow**.

    <Warning>
      Net cash flow is revenue minus investment since the first record, and the investment includes the units still on the lot. In a buying period it is negative without being a loss. Profit is the gross margin.
    </Warning>
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Inventory">
    * **Units on the lot**, split into cars and motorcycles, and the **Capital on the lot** at sale price with its cost.
    * **Median days on the lot** against the target.
    * **Days of inventory**: how long the lot would last at the period's sales pace.
    * **Lot map**: one tile per unit, the oldest at the back, with a table by **Days on the lot** band showing units, share and capital.
    * **Lot composition** by status, and **Brands on the lot** with units, available, capital and average days.
    * **Monthly turnover** for the last 6 months.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Sales and clients">
    * **People and companies**: sales and purchases split by client type.
    * **Top buyers** and **Top sellers to us**.
    * **Team: sales** and **Team: purchases**: completed contracts by the salesperson responsible.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Profitability">
    * **Profitability by brand**: sales, revenue, gross margin, margin as a share of revenue and days to sell.
    * **Best deals** and **Worst deals**, ranked by margin, each linked to its contract number.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

Terms such as gross margin, margin over cost, turnover and days of inventory are defined in the [Glossary](/help/glossary).

## Download a report

Use **Download the report** to get the current report as **PDF**, **Excel** or **CSV**. The app shows **Preparing the file…** while it builds it and **File downloaded** when it is done.

<Warning>
  The export carries the register of contracts created in the period with the clients' contact details. Treat the file as personal data: share it only with people who need it and store it safely.
